What the happened.

Hey folks,

I have moved my blog over to www.medic780.wordpress.com. I would like to say that it has been a fun ride, but the spam and ads here have gotten ridic. Furthermore I have been trying to edit the CSS of the site and it's a absolute nightmare on blogger. So checkout my much sexier looking blog.  I am going to keep this one active just for reasons, I won't delete any of the old content off of it, but will only transfer the posts with high read counts over to wordpress.

hugs and kisses,

-M780

Clinical Gold Standards: CHF

So is bitching out CHF patients a part of a new treatment? Did I miss that portion in school?

We bring a early morning (2:00) 90ish year old female PMhx of cardiac issues and a long list of surgical interventions, c/o breathing difficulty and chest pain.  By the time we grace the entry way of the hospital we were seeing some slight improvement with CPAP and Lasix.

The nurse as I tried to give my report to starts really drilling into the patient about: "How stupid of you it was to wait this long before coming to the hospital" and furthermore "because you waited too long it looks like your heart is failing." The patient then started to get visibly upset, and tear up.

Now I'm not exactly Dr.Bedside, but I was stunned. Both my partner and I just stood there our mouths agape.

Outside the room I caught the nurse and asked if we could have a little chat. Her reply? "No" and turned and walked away.

Needless to say words were exchanged later about that nurse with the Lead nurse and the pt doctor who unfortunately didn't seem that surprised.

Love thy neighbor...

When your neighbor plasters "your" side of the hwy with his political signs:

Do: Talk to him, or steal them and hide them in the dead of night.

Don't: Wack him so hard with a broken piece of 2x4 on his head that he loses consciousness, wakes up and can only remember the state he lives in.
